EWA Basketball Information * 2017 – 2018 Basketball Registration
Registration is OPEN and will close on MONDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2017 at midnight!
Ages - We are a recreational league that works in conjunction with Williamson County Parks & Recreation (WCPR). We offer youth basketball for boys and girls, ages 5 – 17 years old. Our age divisions include 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U & 17U. Your child’s age on August 31, 2017 is the age used for each division. (For example, if your child is 7 or 8 years old by August 31, he/she will play in the 8U division.)
NEW 2017-2018 WCPR RULES! – Teams are no longer allowed to “come back together” from last season. Each team will start the draft with the coach’s child and assistant coach’s child.
If you would like to hand pick your own team, you can play in the OPEN division. More information below.
6U division - Please note our 6U age division is operated “in house” (not in conjunction with Williamson County Parks & Recreation) and is a co-ed division. This age group is normally large enough that games are only played against EWA teams.
Evaluations & Uniform Sizing – Evaluations and uniform sizing will start October 12, 2017. All players and coaches must attend these evaluations! Please come 15 minutes early (6 or 7 PM) for uniform sizing.
10/16/17 – 12u Girls (6:15 PM) and Boys (7:15 PM) – Clovercroft Elementary
10/17/17 – 14u Girls (6:15 PM) and Boys (7:15 PM) – Clovercroft Elementary
10/23/17 – 8u Girls (6:15 PM) and Boys (7:15 PM) – Clovercroft Elementary
10/24/17 – 10u Girls (6:15 PM) and Boys (7:15 PM) – Clovercroft Elementary
10/25/17 – 6u Co-ed (6:15 PM) – Clovercroft Elementary
17U Boys – Evaluations will not occur. You will receive information regarding your first practice from your coach.
Practices – Practices are held at Clovercroft, Kenrose, or Trinity. (Please note – practices can take place at ANY of these schools. It is NOT correlated to where your child attends school or where you live.)
Practices will be 2 days (one weekday & one Saturday) a week starting November 4, 2017. Practices will move to one weekday when games start on December 2, 2017.
We are NOT allowed to practice when Williamson County Schools are closed.
Games - Games will start December 2 and will be scheduled by Williamson County Parks & Recreation. All games are on Saturdays – 12/2, 12/9, 12/16, 1/13, 1/20, 1/27, 2/3 & 2/10 (these dates may vary slightly with our 6u co-ed league). They will be held at various Williamson County Schools and Williamson County Recreational Centers.
End of Season Tournaments - The end of season EWA In-House Tournament will be February 12 – 17, 2018. Teams that advance to the All-County tournament will play from February 12 – 24, 2018. These games will also be played on weeknights.
Coaches – If you are interested in volunteering as a head coach or assistant coach, please contact us.
OPEN teams – Open teams are available for 10u (boys & girls), 12u (boys only) & 14u (boys only). You must contact us during registration if you are interested in forming an OPEN team.
Fees – Online registration is $140 per child. If you register offline after online registration is closed (10/9/17 midnight), the fee is $160. If you ask for a refund before your child’s evaluation date, then $130 will be refunded. If you ask for a refund after your child’s evaluation date, then $100 will be refunded.
